Non-Negotiables and Finding your Calm in the Chaos
You have likely heard me say this before ~ feeling calm and centered DOES NOT come naturally to me. My husband jokes that AT BASELINE I am in fight or flight mode! TRUE STORY. I am a WORK IN PROGRESS and that means SHOWING UP FOR MYSELF every single day which makes a huge difference in my overall well-being. Yes, I am a holistic health coach ~ I burn all the sage, eat all the organic Whole Foods, use all the clean beauty products and do all the meditations and yoga, but I am also a multidimensional being like all of us so I have to work at feeling at peace, centered, grounded, healthy and whole.
NON-NEGOTIABLES
Non-negotiables are the things that you are 100% committed to so you can show up as the best version of yourself each and every day. It’s where you find what I call YOUR CALM IN THE CHAOS. It’s the little things you commit to because it’s important for you to feel good! It’s an intention you set for yourself that encourages holistic wellness ~ good for your mind, body and soul. It could be 15 mins of meditation each day, getting 25 mins of movement in each day, a monthly date with friends, reading a new book each month, a standing date with your partner, trying new recipes each week, meal planning, juicing each morning, sleeping 8 hours each night, turning off electronics 1 hour before bed, 20 min walk each day, calling a friend once a week to catch up. These are all examples.
I challenge you to think about YOUR non-negotiables and commit to them. They will likely look different than mine but I encourage you to choose 1 or 2 habits to start incorporating into your life.
Here are my NON-NEGOTIABLES for Inspiration but remember mine will look different than yours.
Stocking my kitchen with Whole Foods that I know will fuel my mind, body and soul and planning before grocery shopping 👩🏻🌾
Taking time to be in nature every single day 🌳
Walking 5-10K steps outside every day 🏃🏻♀️
Morning routine ~ a few mins of journaling and/or meditation 🧘🏻♀️ 📓
Water with lemon every single morning 🍋
A date with my husband ~ once a week ~ even if it’s at home ~ where we can connect and catch up 🥰
1-2 friend dates a month👯♀️
15 mins at home Yoga/Pilates or yin/stretching every day🤸🏻♀️
Life gets hectic, scary and overwhelming at times, that’s when we need these non-negotiables the most. It might take some exploring ~ Find what grounds you, grows you, nourishes you, inspires you, and fuels you the most and start incorporating those things TODAY. Life might be crazy around us but it does not have to be crazy within us 🧘🏻♀️
Do you already have non-negotiables? If so, what are they? If not, what 1-2 things will you be incorporating?
